Everything You are Doing is Wrong!

Are you still eating dairy!?! Is that a prescription? YOU STOPPED GIVING YOUR CHILD THEIR PRESCRIPTION!?! You need to have your child tested for this. Have you tried bibbidy blah, blah, blah? Well you know that you are doing it all wrong. (silence) This is how YOU need to live your life (Just looking at these people). Well if you aren't willing to make any changes in your life, then I can't help you with your ADHD children. (Mind racing with all the things you have already tried, tested, and implemented) Thank you Jesus for giving me an amazing mother who tells me everyday, that I am not doing it all wrong.
I have been brought to tears by some of these words. Some even from my closest friends behind my back, because I am not leaping into the next MLM (Multi Level Marketing) fad, or adhering to the latest diet plans, or following the new vitamin supplement craze. Don't get me wrong, some of these products, diets, and supplements really are excellent. I just don't want my whole being to be infused with it. My whole life can't revolve around a single product line. That is not where my focus and faith lies. My focus is with my kids wellness, not products and their bottom line.
I try very hard to listen to people that are educated. I quietly contemplate everything I am told. I have been seriously scolded across the board from friends, family, to doctors, all telling me, this is what you need to do. I am constantly questioning myself. Is this my will? Do they see the side effects? Are they understanding the big picture here? This is all I can do, at this moment in time, with the resources I have, and the current information.
The struggle is real for the parents of ADHD children. The insurance won't pay this month, but paid last month. The side effects.....AAAHHHH!!!! I could cry right now, thinking of my boys and what they go through. I reach out to various sources looking for answers to sooth my boys frayed nerves and my own. Then everywhere I turn, that is what I have been hit with, "Live the way I tell you to live, regardless of the cost. You are not doing enough. What you are doing is just like peeing in the wind."
Well ADHD parents, we need to stick together. We need to support each other. What is right for one person and their family might not be right for mine or yours. Most of all, listen to yourself and your child. What are their needs? What are our children saying about how they feel? Listen to everything these well meaning people say, and find your own path. It could be a combination of diet, vitamins, prescriptions, oils, exercise, and therapy. Why does it have to be only one thing and one thing only? We all need some encouragement from time to time. Just keep moving forward in your journey and I will be here to tell you. YOU ARE NOT DOING IT ALL WRONG.
