Facebook Envy

Why do I even bother? Wow, look at their tree! I am so not on their level. What if this isn't my thing? Have you ever had these thoughts in anything new you were trying? They can be crushing especially if they are not just in your own head, but from the people closest to you. How about the deafening silence from close friends when you try something new. That is Okay.

First start off by being your own cheerleader. If you can't or won't invest or believe in yourself, how can you expect others to believe in you? So believe in yourself. Oh and guess what, no body is perfect. What you see on social media is basically a highlight reel of most peoples lives. The last I heard there was only one person who was ever perfect. So give yourself a break and just breath and believe that what you do in this moment, is good enough.

There is a learning curve in everything you do. If you remain open to the possibility that you don't know everything, believe it or not , people usually show up to help you out. Weird huh, I know, but there are people who want to help. In my own life, I have found that just by taking the next step and the next, someone has always been there saying hey have you tried it this way, or my soon to be 10 year old son saying, it's okay mom I know Youtube, let's start a channel. However, I believe that my son does know. Will it be perfect from the get go? Let's not kid ourselves, No it will not. I believe that I will have fun getting it going with him though.

Don't let other people's comments or negativity get you down. Like I said, start with yourself. Be your own cheerleader. Light your own path with positivity. People have a tendency to be drawn by light, so light the way already, one step at a time, one craft, photo, blog, or media blast promoting you at a time. The next thing you know, other people will start cheering you on too. It always starts with you first. So go ahead and cheer yourself on. #yourworthit

Noteworthy crafts that are just going to have to be good enough.

I made this Advent calendar out of a piece of scrap material that had my husband's grandfather's name on it. It is quaint at best.

Advent calendar

This was a no sew project that I did several years ago. I periodically have to break out the glue gun and tack up some of the corners.

And this is why this piece of material was so important. This name on the back.

Sentimental

Before it was an Advent Calendar I used this peice of material to cover my fireplace hearth. It has shielded my kids from bumps, scraps, and bruises. I wanted to soften any blows from falls for my little ones. Now that piece of material has a new life with my kids. It has been filled with Squinkies, Minions, Star Wars, Hershey's chocolate, and always love. While this advent calendar may not win any prizes for the most beautiful or most photogenic, I am certain my kids will fight over who gets it handed down to them when they get older, because it is priceless and beautiful and good enough for us.

Cute kids
