A Day to be Thankful for

I had an awesome day yesterday!!! I made my grocery list for Thanksgiving, and then bribed my daughter Eliza with the promise of new comfy pj's into going with me to the store.

We then set out, and I first started at Goodwill. Eliza was really not in the mood. She was in need of jeans wether she wanted to admit it or not. Kids they just won't stop growing, sheesh. Now in the past I have gone all over the place looking for the perfect fit jeans for my daughter, only to find one pair at TJ Max. Yes, that's right, ONE pair, that's it. I sent one of my best friends out with her and she came back with nothing. However Goodwill, usually has a selection of so many brands and at a price that I can not beat. We have even found some with the tags still on them. Yesterday, we found two pairs of jeans and two great coats. The one coat now...wait for it, is an 80's full length, red, insulated London Fog trench coat. It even has built in shoulder pads. Eliza fell in love with this coat. This coat must have been hanging in someone's closet for years because it is in perfect condition. The zipped in lining is even perfect. She couldn't wait to come home and model it for her Papa.

Then that set the happy mood to go to Walmart. We are usually so rushed going to the store and have so many things to do, but not yesterday. My husband was home watching the boys, so Eliza and I decided to browse the Christmas section just for fun before we started on "The List".

A few weeks ago, we found a tiny old Christmas tree in our attic while doing a yard sale , so Eliza and I decided to see if we could find anything to decorate this 1 foot tree. This is actually funny and more of a challenge then we thought. I will have to post pictures of this project for everyone. For now this is the tree after we took off most of the glued on old stuff and then we just stuck it in the corner.

Eliza and I had the best time at Walmart grocery shopping. We ran into so many friends doing their shopping too. It was more of a social club. It seemed like every time we turned a corner their was someone to talk to. They weren't our everyday friends either. I ran into a

man I used take classes with at The Gym, school friends for my daughter, even my Uncle. Then since we were not in a hurry, we talked to them all. When we left the store, we actually thought about going home, putting up our groceries, and just going back to hang out. It was that fun. So even though our shopping cart wasn't really that full, and I did forget the coffee, Eliza and I filled up on so much more. Remember what this time of year is about, being thankful for all the people in your life. I know that I am.
